Heritage on Wheels

The resounding success of Palace on Wheels, India's premier luxury train, prompted the government of India to come up with the idea of launching a train on similar lines. This gave birth to Heritage on Wheels.

Heritage on Wheels is a luxury train, on the lines of the Palace on Wheels. Heritage on Wheels is a joint venture of the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railways. The Heritage on Wheels runs on the meter gauge. The train traverses through the uncharted regions of Bikaner and Shekhawati, famous repositories of the heritage and culture of Rajasthan.

Besides Bikaner and Shekhavati region, the Heritage on Wheels train also helps you to explore the cultural heritage of other cities of Rajasthan in a grand and royal style. Heritage on Wheels history tells us the joint effort of the Department of Tourism, Government of India, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) and Indian Railways started the train. It is slowly becoming the most preferred luxury train in India and is destined to progress to the top soon.

Heritage On Wheels of Rajasthan, India combines the culture of the state with all the modern luxuries. It consists of 14 saloons; each designed keeping in mind the heritage of Rajasthan. There are two restaurants, named as the Maharaja and the Maharani. Other facilities provided in the train include a well stocked Bar cum Lounge, Kitchen and service cars. The food serves consists of a number of cuisines, apart from the traditional Rajasthani food. You will get a royal treatment here with well-experienced staff in traditional uniform ever ready to be of service to you.
